buses and trains to airports

Your route via Madrid looks feasible - it could be very difficult to hire a car to cross the two borders as a one-way hire (leaving the car in the UK) and with Hertz going broke today that rules out a possible contender. Train, hotel, fly and train could get you there but that is a lot of exposure to the infection, with the worst bit being crossing London. I would have to have an extremely strong reason to tackle the journey.

I am hiring a car from Corvera to Madrid on Friday pm and leaving at Madrid airport sat pm so one day hire about 45euro but 120 go not taking car back to Corvera.

So you leave 9 am to be there in time for 5pm flight to Heathrow.  All in all I paid 230 for the flight on 30th but could have booked 3rd June for about 100!   I chose 30th because I thought the isolation 14 days would be introduced 1st June.  Pity, could have saved 130 euro by using flight on 3rd!

   sadly i've left the actual bookings til last and waited until i knew the taxi,train, hotel plane then journey up to Manchester

til last and made a meal of trying to arrange everything first. I've just been online to book the flight to London and the cheapest is 500 euros as all economy seats are sold.

next available seat ( not  extortionate price ) is nearly two weeks away.

i have avoided the virus all this time and taking, trains , planes, tubes and another trains seems  stupid.

Ok, that sounds like it is same flight although I think mine is listed as Iberia. It doesn’t matter anyway  as it is the time of arrival at Madrid Airport that is important for us.
