The Spanish government are currently announcing that the lockdown is extended to April 26th.

This will increase pressure on those who have second homes to retreat to them. They could be bringing something with them that can kill you, completely illegally.

If you see anyone arrive in your area you MUST ring 062 and report them. If they came waving guns or knives around you would immediately ring the police, and the danger they present is no different.

Forget any stupid concepts about not "snitching", being a "grass" or whatever, or thinking that it is not your business. It is everyone's business to save lives.

According to El Pais the extension has yet to be passed, it is still being debated. However it would seem to be most likely to be implemented.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

we are not in a position to stop people moving around. all you can do is self isolate. even the police cant stop the movement. stay at home. wash your hands keep your distance. you will never control what others do. just look after yourself and your family  And don't fret.

Good point, the Police can't be everywhere and unfortunately there are a few around who think this problem isn't there's!

Interestingly calls to the Police in the UK have changed in nature. A reduction in the absolute nonsense and time wasting and abusive calls and an increase from vigilant members of the public reporting anyone, including neighbours who are disregarding the request to stay at Home.

As I understand the Spanish police DO have the power to make people return to their previous residence.

Any one know for certain?

So, if the Police are told, as Peter C rightfully says they should be, then the Madrid or Murcia second homers will be sent back to their primary home.

This whole issue is about one simple fact - If every infected person, infects more than one new person, the infection spreads and more people will die, if the virus is passed onto less than one person, then it will gradually fade.

To get that to happen we ALL need to reduce all possible contacts, so that is why people must not move houses (and we must call the Police if there are new arrivals) or repeatedly visit the supermarket, which makes it more dangerous for everyone..

Hello Gax ,something to consider. I live in Balsicas and we have a Spar supermarket it is very small and during this lockdown is also very busy .There are no controls on social distancing ,no gel or gloves provided as there are at Mercadona  and Iceland in SAN Javier.I choose to do my essential shopping at one of these two places .I shop on my own so am still isolated when I drive the 8 kilometres or so ,use my own mask and gloves and take my own gel with me.The store is also large enough for me to maintain the recommended distance between others and myself.I was stopped by the guarda  the other day on my way to Mercadona and showed him my protective equipment and explained to him what I have just said , he waived me on my way as fortunately for me he could see the common sense in my decision.
