I know 3 people that have got it at this moment all mid 40s all survived but they were all quite ill .My wife works in a care home (I worry about her ) I work as a delivery driver if we dont work we dont get paid and probably sacked if we get the virus we get 90pound a week .While the english mps...

... get 10000 pounds extra money for working from home .Health and  safety has gone crazy you cant climb a tree yet you can treat coronas with no gloves or mask

Agree totally. My daughter works in a care home which is in lock down. They had 9 residents in quarantine, 48 residents in total. They have plastic aprons and gloves supplied, however, there are 300 face masks locked in a drawer, which the manager will not issue. They apparently have to pay for any more if they run out !! We supplied our daughter with a mask, ( she has a weak left lung and is prone to pneumonia and pleuracy). When she went into work, some of the other staff laughed at her, but she took no notice, and continued to wear it for the rest of her 12 1/2 hour shift. The manager came in the following morning, and told her she was not allowed to wear it. This angered and upset my daughter, but she went in the following night for her shift. One of the residents coughed straight into her face when she was helping her into bed. None of the staff or residents have been tested as yet for covid 19. How disgraceful is this, when she is putting herself on the line for others.

It is contemptible. Is this in UK or Spain? Just wondering if they are as badly equipped over here as appears to be the case in UK. In UK it’s even more despicable as MPs are now being paid £10k extra for worfrom home. Outrageous!

Is there no way that a report could be made quietly to a newspaper, or speak to the other members of staff to all put pressure on the management to provide them with even a couple each? It’s a disgrace.

She works in the UK. She's normally a tough cookie, but this has her in bits and in tears all the time. She is a single mum, and her children are 11 and 8. She has to come home to her kids after her shift, but worries something may be passed onto them. She has good support from from her children's dad, and us, and we are all in regular contact with each other. I am used to being the one that makes everything alright for all 3 of my kids, even though they are 20, 34 and 36. I've contacted our mp and she is going to lobby parliament, as she is appauled by our situation. L

I cannot begin to imagine what a nightmare she is having to try and live through. I don’t suppose anything will ever compensate for the stress and worry that she and her/your family are suffering right now, but I truly hope they all come through this safely. Our thoughts are with you. Take good care.

This is the most terrible situation I have read about, staff who have health situations should be on furlough, to tell her she cant wear a mask in that situation is a disgrace! I pray she has the courage to keep challenging her workplace if she is unable to stop work, hopefully someone will develop a moral conscience at some point! I pray she and her precious children will be protected from this hideous disease.

Thank you Hshep and cat45. Your kind words mean a lot. Wish I could name and shame them, but my daughter is rightly worried that she would face repercussions. She had the paramedics out 2 shifts ago. The first thing they asked was where are your masks! They then placed them on safeguarding. On finding this out  her manager accused her of being a whistle blower and has filed a report on her ! A few choice words would be said if I managed to get her in a room.
