Centauro is the best company with my experience.

Yes car hire is very expensive this year, more that any other.

Centauro send out discount email of up to 30% so subscribe with them 

Car hire prices are significantly higher this year, as all the companies appear to be trying to make up for losses last year, due to Covid and lack of travel. Plus, 28th July for a month is absolutely the peak season.

As per the other reply, I have had good experiences with Centauro, so would recommend them. Do not use Goldcar.

Flemenca cars…..I don’t know anything about them but apparently they will collect you at the airport and drop you back for departure…..you will find them on FaceBook.

Also others have recommended VIP Pilar de la Horadada….Audrey on 966 766 084….also collect and drop back to airport.

You could always check for shorter hire periods, say 10/12 days at a time, might work out a bit cheaper but it does mean having to go back to the airport at least once……up to you to decide if the hassle is worth it.

Would appreciate an update on Flemenca and/or VIP Pilar if you use either….thanks.

Just booked with Centauro Aug 22 to 23 Sept for €516 (32day). I did have a discount voucher.  All hire company's have sold a lot  of there cars over the last year to make up for the shortfall in rental. So there will be less cars about.

Hi. Steven ,and a others who have replied to my questions. Yes prices seem to be very..very expensive this Summer,and yes it looks like it's to try and recover last year's business. Steven,I can believe you got such a deal ..the best price I am getting from Centauro is for a car like a Fiat Tipo coming in at : Basic: €1114.75 . and then there is Comfort..€1,154..and there is a Preuimn which over a €100 + dearer ..that is a  long way from the deal you got Steven.

I have a quote then for a Nissan Qashqai ..which is the same price as theFiat Tipo   €1,114. for the basis ..and this it says jnudes 20% discount . If you look for a basic Ford Focus it is priced for the month at €1,729..Inc 29% discount . I nearly would buy a car..andime being honest .I wish I knew what is so good about Centauro cars .everyone is praising them .so they must be doing something right.but what .it deffinetly is not price ! Has anyone on the Forums heard of irhave any experience with a Company called Laracars..best price I could get at € 982.00 with Comprehensive Insurance.  

At those prices maybe you should rethink, and walk or bus, or use taxis?

Indeed .but my purpose is to check out the areas and and properties along this coastal area each ide of Las Alcazares..this with a view to hopefully find a little nice place to relocate..retire..J think in honesty I will need a car..and I was not joking .buy a bit of a run around ..and leave it until I return later in the year ..or possibly return in September when the rush is over .but ime booked now,and got a place to stay .so .

Found its always best to hire 3 to 4 weeks before to get the best prices.  Also July  August are high season

Hi Stephen..that's very kind of you. will try this later today ..you know if it were a normal year..and restrictions on travel were lifted,and one knew they were going to be lifted by Irish Gov I would have booked a car. but from one day to the next..one is uncertain what's happening..here in Ireland anyway.Thanks again..will let you know my result.
