Hi

I was wondering if anyone with experience can give me some advice.

Im driving to UK from Murcia through France and wanted to know what’s the best route to take (cheaper/faster/easier)

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Lots of route options, but make sure you have the form to allow you to pass through France en route to the UK.

Be aware that hotels and motels and road side cafes may be more and more often closed in Spain and France if not already, so the long drive may not be possible.

Fastest and safest ways ferry from Santander etc. just don't go into Madrid. Mind you Brittany Ferries are considering their options at moment, so that route might disappear.

The best advice we are all receiving is to self isolate where you are. By definition driving some 2500km will be dangerous and difficult.

Just bear in mind that Spain has gone from 800 cases to 29,000 in 15 days, with ever tightening regulations and Britain with looser rules will be soon move into same dire situation.

Hi there. The Via Michelin website is really useful. Shows the different routes available and also calculates tolls on each route.

You don't need to register but if you do and put your vehicle details in it also calculates fuel costs.

Don't want to try and teach you to suck eggs, but I recently drove from Mar Menor to Paris and back, its tough enough if everything is working normally.

As we are living in a critical time, make sure you prebook accomodation and get email confirmation they are open. But regardless take sleeping bags, pillows etc. in case you have to sleep in car.

Take food and liquid, don't assume roadside cafes will be open.

And take plenty of cash and credit cards, dont assume debit cards will be accepted.

Oh yes, there is a €600 fine for having two people in a car in Los Alcazares.
