Just seen a posting by the UK Driving Standards Agency - wouldn't there be chaos if these rules were introduced here in Spain?!

"Rule 243 of The Highway Code is about parking. It says:DO NOT stop or park: Near a school entrance

Anywhere you would prevent access for Emergency Services

At or near a bus or tram stop or taxi rank

On the approach to a level crossing/tramway crossing

Opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space

Near the brow of a hill or hump bridge

Opposite a traffic island or (if this would cause an obstruction) another parked vehicle

where you would force other traffic to enter a tram lane

Where the kerb has been lowered to help wheelchair users and powered mobility vehicles

In front of an entrance to a property

On a bend

Where you would obstruct cyclists' use of cycle facilities

Except when forced to do so by stationary traffic."

Not sure what the problem is? I think they all sound quite sensible restrictions to me :o)

If someone parked in those situations, it would probably annoy\irritate me so all good from my perspective :o)

This was a tongue-in-cheek post - although the driving standards in the UK are hardly exemplary (see all the dashcam stuff on Youtube etc!) in my experience although driving in Spain is heavily regulated there are glaring omissions, and in general the attitude here is "can't be bothered".

Can you imagine trying to enforce that here' they actually park on roundabouts and then chat on mobiles' I just hang back and guess where the person in front is going to go as indicators are non existent.  I know what lane to stay in on a roundabout but I never assume others do lol.
