San Javier closes 14th January, Corvera opens 15th January.
Most of the last flights in and out are on the 12th.
Definitely 100% happening.

I would suggest that you contact the airline you have booked with.
The new airport will be opening on the 15th January so it will of course depend on your January dates.

Hi everyone- I don’t have time to pm everyone individually regarding their cancelled Ryanair flights. This is what is happening right now. On 14th January san Javier (MJV) airport closes. After this date any flights booked into that airport are, of course, cancelled. The following day 15th January, corvera airport opens. This airport (RMU) only appeared on our system yesterday. They are currently adding all of the flights and at the moment they appear on my system but not for sale yet. In my opinion, if you have a flight after 14th January and simply wish to switch it to corvera, then wait for now and do nothing. Try again in a few days and you should be able to switch it over for free. I hope this makes sense! Basically there are no days with no flights so it should not be a problem at all. Hope this helps clear up some of the questions!!
Murcia is shutting and Corvera is opening on 15/01/2019. So I would assume if you are flying in early January then you will still land at Murcia but after the 15/01 all flights will have to be from Corvera
There have been some mixed messages, especially from Ryanair, but most couriers seem to have confirmed flights to and from Corvera from this date and the volume of flights available are expected to increase once Corvera becomes more "established"
We have received confirmation from Ryanair that our next trip will be to Corvera
We have received confirmation from Ryanair that our next trip in March will be to Corvera.

Keep an eye on 'Murcia today' for info regarding the new airport. Apparently, there will be a bus service to and from the airport to resorts along the mar menor. No idea of how regular the bus service will be. Hopefully there will be a service late in the evenings. The bus fare is approx 12 euros to San Javier. Going to miss San Javier airport!
