Be very careful buying along the Mar Menor. LA was badly hit, more so in the old town. which was devastated. However there was heavy flooding pretty much everywhere on the Costa Calida. You should also be aware that along some of this coastline (LA & Los Narejos) the sea is now a no go area due to contamination. How long this could take to recover, who knows. The lagoon has been deteriorating for some time.  I am on the Mar Menor Golf resort, which is beautiful. We escaped most of the flooding. You need a car though. It's about 7-10mins to LA.  Also community fees are expensive. Torre de La Horadada is nice (south end of the Costa Blanca). It is on higher ground so escaped most of the flooding, and of course the Mediterranean Sea is much better for swimming.  Perhaps look at Mazzaron.  This is the second time LA has been hit by the Gota Fria (last in 2016).  I'm considering moving further north on the Costa Blanca because I prefer to swim in the med. Also, from my point of view, it's a bit livelier.

Sorry l do not agree with you l would never move from

Los Alcazares these awful things happen in many countries, the community of Los Alcazares all pull together amazing helping each other, The  mar menor will be saved peoples voices will be heard we will not let this beautiful lagoon be ruined .many-people marched in Cartagena save Mar Menor so it has to be done we won’t let it rest .

I live n Los Narejos we were very lucky   .we all have our own points of view  on the floods but we will carry on and all help to get-things sorted. Brilliant community spirit love it.

kind Regards

Jan

I have a house in pueblo Patricia for sale if anyone is interested lol.

Moved to Los Narejos few months ago .

I really hope you're right JanJan.  The Mar Menor must be saved
