Hi All, does anyone know what the current water quality is like in the Mar Menor, we are hoping to come out in June with our family (fingers crossed) and our grandsons will want to swim / water sports etc?

Thanks Angela

Just from Mar Menor marina and jetty observations, the water is clearest I have seen in the last 9 years.

The seagrass is growing well.

Thanks Roberto, fantastic news! Do you know if masks are required still on the beach?

Regards Angela

Masks are not required if you are sitting on the beach within a family unit but must be worn if walking about or in an area where social distancing cannot be kept. There is no need to wear masks when swimming.

My neighbour went swimming in the Mar Menor at Los Narejos this morning. He said the sea was really clear and was surprised at the masses of fish so all seems good.

While the sea is clear Los Alcazares Ayuntamiento (council) is still still warning bathers to wear "water shoes" due to the silt, mud and other items on the seabed!!
