Spanish police issuing fines for those not using zebra crossings

I took a screenshot of this article from the Murcia news.I have heard of this in America,but was unaware of the law here in Spain,Luckily we avoided any fines up to now,although I agree,with common sense,it's much safer to use these crossings and will endeavour to use them from now.
