Is it safe to swim in Los Alcazares? I'm an all year round swimmer from Ireland and stay near the promenade .Is the beach being repaired for this spring?

Nothing unsafe about the water. Enjoy!

I live by the seafront and walk the promenade daily. I have not seen anyone swimming since the flooding. It is after all freezing! ❄️ Personally i wouldn't. The only people in the water are kite enthusiasts, canoers and rowers. Since the flood, work has begun on the beach but only in certain areas. However im hoping by the summer season they will have the whole beach ready. They usually start in late April /May.

The water is "looking" better but there are still red flags, yes they are there, i have seen them on the old town.

The big problem is debris. From the waters edge out 150-200 meters which is the swimming area has not been dredged yet for debris from the September storm. I'm of the opinion they don't want people  getting injured. Many roadside bins found their way in and lots of sharp objects, glass, metal etc. Keep an eye on other LA forums to see the latest updates. There has been none yet but with the weather getting warmer I think you will soon see many. This info is for Los Alcazares  i don't know about the other areas up and down the coastline. Hope this helps.

It’s not great for swimming ver shallow.  Personally since it’s lost it’s blue flag I wouldn’t go near it.
