I have been looking for a link to the Los Alcázares Town Hall Padron form, or a current PDF.

Initially I could not find it, I could not find it on the Townhall site, but it turned up in a Google search.

I figured it would save a trip.

With Cartagena and Murcia, now you can do complete registration online

Found it myself this morning.

https://www.losalcazares.es/images/modelos_formularios/V_Padron_MunicipalPdf_11/ModeloPadron_SolicEmpd_Forms_13_1.pdf

Printed it out and translated via Google to make sure I had all the documentation I needed.

Rather than going up to Town Hall to fill in the form.

Would have missed a couple of things, which would have meant a second trip.

Advance preparation meant it was a single trip to the Town Hall.

All good.

Yes, you'd think processing the €2 fee, probably cost more than that.

Here is the link to all the LA forms

https://www.losalcazares.es/informacion/formularios

Of course, much more complex applications than Padrons can be done online around the world saves an awful lot of sitting around.

No doubt LA will catch up to Murcia and Cartagena and switch in due course, but right now having the form to look at and understand at your leisure is a start.

Do remember that although your registration on the padron lasts for some years (think it needs refreshing every 5 years?) the certificate is only acceptable by most organisations for three months, so only get a certificate just before you need to present it.

Agreed, for TIE, Schools etc. then you need to spend up big,  €3 and organisations need a fresh Padron.

If you are waiting outside the Town Hall before 9am, then the queue inside is not so long.  I spoke to a woman who arrived today at 935am, she was 36th in the Padron list. and that would have been around 1230 I am guessing

And then the Spanish wonder why nobody can be bothered to sign on the padron !!

They are 20 years behind the UK with things like this.

In the UK you can walk in to council offices and the like, along with businesses, carry out transactions without any form of identification to prove entitlement. I think I prefer the Spanish system.

Learn the rules of the Game and play it,

Be there at 850am when the office opens at 9am, bring your completed form and  needed documentation and its not hard.

What the Padron stops is owners renting out properties long term for cash and avoiding putting their shoulder to the tax wheel.

It also ensure renters have appropriate rights.

I agree with Peter about identification.
