Property /Health Insurance companies

I have recently finalized the purchase of a property in Las Alcazars. Presently it is uninsured, and I for sure would like to do something about this. Any advice or knowledge of good reputable, English speaking Insurance companies in the general area of Las Alcazares. I know people will have there properties insured especially in L A with its past history of flooding,so there must be advice that could help me.
The previous owners who were a Spanish family were advising me,about I think they described about a special Insurance that is covered by Insurance Compensation Consortium. Can anyone explain about this.. or explain further about this. Is it a necessary. I have a feeling it sounds like a good idea. Any advice appreciated. Brendan
