Don't worry, we visited Los Alcazares for a weekend in January never having visited the Spanish coast before and went home with a house!

Not literally of course but completed on the purchase 6 weeks later.

Don't regret it one bit, it's a lovely town if you are looking for something not too touristy but with good amenities.

We brought in the El Carmoli area where you get a lot of house for the money.

Let me know if you want any more details.

Andy

Hi Andy,

We are planning a trip to Mar Menor this autumn to research the area  with the intention of buying a property and Los Alcazares is of interest to us - can you give us some info as we have never been to this area before - whats LA like in the winter / summer etc.

Look forward to hearing from you

Kind regards

David

My advice is rent for at least 6 months before buying.  Walk the streets @ different times during the day to get a feel of the various areas & talk to people who have lived here for a while. We have all got different likes & preferences. Good luck.

Los Alcazares is ideal place to retire , beautiful beaches even has a doggy park ,

I have a house there spend as much time as l can over there.

Life is so easy over there , buses are air conditioned to take you to City like Murcia.Cartagena ,

Alicante and many more places .Good luck X Jan

Where is the foggy park in Los Alcazares?

We live in Los Narejos but never found it.

Hi, we are coming over to LA to look at property later in the year. Although lately I'm reading about rising crime in area, burglaries and muggings etc. Just wondered if anyone could shed any light on the subject?

Thanks

Hi,

Los Alcázares is a nice town to live, also suitable if you don’t have a car. It has four supermarkets ( consum, Aldi, Lidl and mercadona) all within walking distance. Most bars and restaurants are open all year. The town is flat so it’s suitable for all ages. It has a nice mixture of all nationalities. The town hall is in the old town which makes it convenient to walk. The community of Puerto Marina with it’s three pools is just a 10 minute walk to the beach and the sea front. I have a two bedroom apartment for sale on Puerto Marina, message me if you need any further information. Hope this helps.

regards

Andrew

Hi

We bought 2 years ago in Los Narejos (adjacent part of Los Alcazares). We are very happy with our purchase and live in a 3 bed townhouse with outdoor largish patio plus a solarium on the roof. The area is flat and easy to get about, I,m 76 and manage fine. We are in a small gated community of 26 houses so a measure of security. We walk to the beach (7-10 minutes) and the town, the bank etc. There is a local bus (circular route) costs 1 euro if you dont want to walk. We visit from time to time avoiding the heat of mid summer. We will be at our house for 3 weeks September/October and would be happy to meet you for a coffee for a useful chat and answer some of your questions, after all we were in the same position 2 years ago never heard of Los Alcazares although we had stayed in various parts of Spain previously
