Hey guys has anyone any idea how much non resident tax is on an apartment in Los alcazares that's not and hasn't been leased out....

Or is there a charge for missing payments for a few years by having no idea about the non resident tax..

Also is it straight forward or complicated to pay the tax either online or post...

Has anyone had any dealings in this area?

Any advice is welcome..

I wasn't aware either if the non resident tax but it was fairly straight forward. I think the amount is linked to the IBI ,and how many people in the property. I followed the recommendation by several people on here and used John at spanishtaxforms.co.uk.

Once he has all the info from you he can either email the form to be downloaded and taken to the Spanish bank to pay, or send the form to be taken to the Spanish bank to pay. Or of not in Spain I believe they can take the form to the bank and pay it.

I believe the tax works a year in arrears,so for instance I paid in Dec22 for the year 2021.

The non resident tax (modelo210) is based on your cadestral value which is on your IBI statement.

It’ll cost at least €50 to have it done by a professional. It’s easy to download the form and complete it yourself. It’s a bit fiddly until you get used to it but then each year it’s plain sailing. Once complete it is automatically verified and you are notified of errors if there are any.

If there are more than one in household then you pay half each so you complete separate forms. Remember that you are paying for the previous year each time (i.e. by 31/12/23 you pay for period ending 31/12/22).

The Hacienda (tax office) don’t make it easy to pay remotely but all you do is print it off and pay at your Spanish bank.

Alternatively you can get it done by a professional, get copies of each page and diy next time, saving yourself money.

I’ve paid ours for over 10 years.

Good luck
