Hi folks just wondering what Los Alcazares is like in the winter don't mean the weather. Iv been told everything closes down. Just wondered how true it is.

I would estimate that activity decreases by at least 60%. Most of “the strip” (Rio Nalón) closes, all the beach chiriguitos close, the hotels shut and there are less flights. Some, like Pizerria Angela do not open again until Semana Santa.
Of course you can still shop, get a meal and enjoy the sunshine.

Still loads of places open and the beach is quiet...not all the hotels close...we have our get togethers in lovely Spanish restaurants and hotels. English cinema twice a week with the latest films, plenty of fiestas still happening, all the local markets still on and best of all you actually park near where you want to be !! Love the Autumn and winter here!

love los alcazares more in winter than summer. quite a few restaurants on strip open, prices are reduced and not inflated for tourist season. cinema, market and a nice large space on a sunny beach. some beach bars are open and hours are shorter. weather is still good.

We just purchased in los alcazares - house due to be ready January/February. Short visit end of November then move permanently on 7 December (renting till own house completed). Very much looking forward to enjoying Xmas and new year there and hope over time to join some groups and meet new people. Hope you also find a house
