Why did you need a solicitor to notarise the certificates ?   I thought they were ok to use as they were and send to FCO ? 

Has anyone else done this I haven't read anywhere that this needed doing.

When filling in the visa form did you do the English or Spanish one ? And does it matter ? 

Also it asks when you are intending to enter Spain, we have put our travel plans forward nd forward again so unsure when we will be able to travel ? the form also asks number of entries required do you know what this means did you put one , two or more than two I'm not sure what it means by that.  I think it means in the year but not sure, I have a wedding to come back to the UK for in August,  does it mean how many times I will come in and out before I collect the TIE ?  

Appreciate any help you can give.

Also just a heads up it depends where in the country you live to which Consulate you can use.

I thought I could use the London office as its closer but I have to use the Manchester office as different areas are assigned to different Consulates.

You can check on the consulate website.

I would check it all with an experienced solicitor. I would normally feel confident in completing all the paperwork myself, but I didn't want to risk making a mistake, so have used a Spanish solicitor.

Re- entries - I don't know for sure, however, in the past I had a business visa for India and that was 'multi-entry' as I knew I needed to travel there & back several times during the period of the visa.

Hi Ang.  Glad you asked because i had miised that bit.  I will put multiple as it seems to be a multi purpose Application that will also cover work.  I cannot see why documents need to be notarised!  I have my Medical and Criminal record certificates now and have just sent off to Milton Keynes for Legalisation.  I also panicked a little as I just assumed my appointment was in London - luckily as is well! 

I would definately use the Spanish for as they require Sworn Spanish translations of your certificates.  I did post earlier the Translator that I used.  Very efficient and good value.  E-mailed a copy of my certificates on Friday afternoon and received the swron translatoin on sunday morning.  £30 each one.  I'll put the details here in case anyone needs them.

I confirm I am a Sworn Translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and registered in the Spanish Consulate in London and in Spain.

Below you can find the details for my sworn translation services (traducción jurada):

I emailed the consulate and they said the hague apostil is sufficient and no need to notarise the certificates did you have to get your health insurance translated as well ?

I forgot one of your questions.  The paperwork for the Health Cover is all in Spanish, so not a problem.  One for you (or anybody). On form 790 - 3 pages, but is the section "AUTOLIQUIDACION  and TARIFA SEGUNDA relevant to our application. It is missing on the 3rd page.

Hi I was confused by this 790 as the first 2 pages are exactly the same and the third page just looked like it was missing some information from the first 2 but again the same.

I filled in the EX01 last night 3 times lol ! As it has to be filled out in Spanish mine is not that good yet. 

Will have another go tonight when I finish work.
