I phoned the service to enquire about turnaround times and the helpful chap advised that even though the website is advising 10 days, they are currently achieving 2-3 days from receipt, so I would very much hope we get ours back by the end of next week.
My Spanish solicitor has enquired about application appointments with the consulate, but won't book an actual date until she has confirmed that we have all the correct docs.
Recent comments on another forum suggest that the consulate should issue the visa within 2-4 weeks after the appointment, so we're likely to be moving to Spain at the same time as your flight!

Why did you need a solicitor to notarise the certificates ? I thought they were ok to use as they were and send to FCO ?
Has anyone else done this I haven't read anywhere that this needed doing.
