Anyone have any advice on how to get a Padron at Los Alcazares Town Hall.  We are buying a new property and have taken a risk and flown over from the U.K. to finalise our building contract, sort out Padron and also hopefully get our Residence.  We arrived early September and having been trying for a padron since before we apply for Residence and health care ( we have an S1).  We and our lawyers have tried to make an appointment on the phone but no one answers it and when they do they pick up the phone and put it down so we can’t get to speak to anyone to make an appointment.  We travelled to the town hall and queued up and they told us we could only be seen if we had an appointment and weren’t interested that we had been trying for weeks.  We were then told the system was changing in late October and we could turn up but when we did that last week they said we had to have a appointment ticket but none were available for the day we went even thought we went there before they were open.  We are tearing our hair out but it would be useful to know what will work and if other people have had similar experiences or have any tips.

Many thanks

You must be resident in Spain to be able to get resident status, and not spend too much time out of Spain or you may lose it.

It does not matter if you are living in your house or a friends - once you have been in Spain for more than 183 days in a calendar year you are regarded as tax resident. To stay in Spain as a visitor you are limited to 90 days in any 180.
