We’ve just moved house and need to register our Spanish car with our new address. We are non-residents but the DGT will not change the registration without the padrón. Please tell me what we should do?

If you have a firma digital or Cl@ve, you can change your address with all the government entities online and all in one go by filling in this document and ticking all the boxes that might affect you. Choose the left-hand box for the application/solicitud and you can then check a few weeks later by clicking on the right-hand box.

Once the DGT have you and your car registered at the new address, you'll need to inform your local Ayuntamiento of the new registered address of the car, so that the car tax will be charged there and not at your previous address.
