Just arrived to Murcia airport and we had special assistance and when we arrived at passport control they took photos of our passports and wanted my mobile number ( the helpers from special assistance took the photos )
Does anyone know if that’s normal ?

We travelled to Murcia In December and used Special assistance, and no it is not normal. We have never had it happen to us in the 6 years that we have had special assistance flying into both San Javier or Murcia, however I seriously doubt it would be scam involving passport control and the airport workers. We are flying to Murcia next week, so will see what happens.

Hi,
We have recently travelled to Alicante and Corvera, using Airport Assistance and on both occasions have had both passport details, and mobile numbers taken.
We were assured that this was normal practice by the assistance staff, to identify passengers requiring assistance, and we were immediately identified when we arrived to go home.

Makes complete sense - there must be many assistance users who wander off to the toilets or the duty free leaving the helpers looking for them as boarding approaches.
