Hi

Sad to report more theft from our Bungalow in Los Alcazares we had 2 bikes stolen 2 months ago,now the locked cupboard at the side of the house has had its locks popped and brand new extending ladders have been stolen they were red and extended to 14ft they were still wrapped.

They came over the wall at the side of the house which is about 7 ft does anybody know if you can get security paint and the anti theft wall spikes from anywhere local. Good to know any other ideas that people use to help with security it's very frustrating to say the least that people think they can just steal off people.

Has anyone reported any thefts to the police is it straight forward  or a hastle do they offer any help or advise.

Please report it to the police.

Will they find your bikes or ladders, who knows! But it is the only way they know what is going on in your area.

sorry to hear about your thefts, did you not report the stolen bikes to the police? Maybe it is someone taking these things that lives quite near you and watches what you do and where you put things!

They may have noticed that no police came to your house and thought "why not give it another try"

Always report situations like this otherwise how can the police be aware, if you telephone there should always be someone that speaks English or your language and would send someone around.

I sincerely hope you do not have any more bad luck

Good luck with reporting to the police.

Numerous burglaries do not get reported because the police do not provide much assistance.  Essentially you will need to reprt it online, there is a system on there somewhere under the main police website.

Once reported they will give you an appointment with a local police station. You must attend with somebody that speaks spanish or you may find extreme difficulty finalising your claim and getting a Crime Report Number!

Most insurance companies will refuse any claims on thefts not reported to the police and having Crime Numbers.

I had my external air conditioner units stolen but after writing letters, visiting four police stations, I gave up.

Your insurance excess would probably be more than the value of the ladders so on this occasion you may need to swallow the hit.

Sorry for that, I know how awful being robbed can be.
