I know it’s not Los Alcazares, but we’ve just been to see Jose of Ex Pat Services in Cabo Roig. https://expat-services.es/ . It’s around a 15 minute drive from LA and you are allowed to cross boarders for professional appointments.

This guy is Spanish, but worked as a senior manager for Barclays Bank back in the uk. His wife is English and also worked for Barclays, so obviously they both speak perfect English and understand both the UK and Spanish tax systems.

I was particularly impressed on the ideas he had for minimising our tax bills. This is something I believe you pay a good accountant for. It’s not just about doing the return, but saving you money. Mine back in the UK was really good at this, so was pleased to find someone here who worked along the same lines.

Just a word of warning; if you don’t go with Jose make sure you only use someone who you get a personal recommendation from who they’ve used, and not just doing a basic pension return, as you could do that yourself. Many aren’t qualified and have little understanding of the tax system other than the basics. We spoke to one who, if we’d have taken her advice, would have cost us thousands.
