Hi all,
I have just got my first detailed water bill. I am not sure what the entry "CUOTA SERVICIO" (translated as "Service Fee") relates to. It's the biggest value item on the bill and is 3 times the cost shown for water usage. As we are using our property as a holiday home, does anyone know if this is a flat rate which will be charged on each bi-monthly bill irrespective of whether we use water or not.

Hi Jeff
Yes this is a standing charge which you will have to pay every month, and as you say this is the most expensive item on the bill, but dose include other services such as rubbish collection form the bins.
But as in every country you live in a service charge is applied to most utilities.

Strange that rubbish collection is added to a water bill. Have you got your pipes crossed?
