Is this normal temp (41 - 2 degs today) for July here? Or is this heatwave conditions?

We have had mosquiteras fitted to windows so can leave them open all day - they roll up so you can lock the mallorquinas (wooden shutters) or in the case of a door out on to a top-floor patio concertina open and closed.

If in Los Alcazares see Pepe at Toldos Cristal (near the blue clinic and Time for a change) - great service, good prices.

Absolutely do as the Spanish do, it’s tried and tested, they know what they are doing and how to keep cool and conversely in a few months time get the most out of the winter sun....

Highly recommend mosquito screens, well spent money....

Thanks, Anni.   When we have our own place it will be mozzie screens on every window & door and doing the following the sun/shade round routine with the opening and closing.   As for temps. 

Can only recommend something cold for the searing temps....pool, shade, a tall glass with 2 cubes of ice, slice of frozen orange and 🍋 equal measures of vino tinto and something like 7up and away you go....... can't beat a homemade version of Tinto de Verano....

Now that is what I call 'helpful' advice :-))

When it's that hot, go easy on the ice in drinks. Chilling the throat and oesophagus too much too quickly can cause health problems. The locals will refrain from it but bar tenders usually half fill the glass with ice, some without even asking.

And I was told by friends who’ve lived in Spain over 35 years, that you shouldn’t keep water in the fridge as that’s bad for you as well. Google it ...(too long for me to explain here but I looked it up for verification).

PS I think the original question was ‘is this normal temperatures for July?’ It is extreme, so is it the norm?
