Vaccine Certificate REGION OF MURCIA

Last week we posted about how to obtain your vaccine certificate in the different Autonomous Communities, including Comunidad ValencianaEach Autonomous Community decides when to release this process, we cannot control that (many of you have been annoyed that we aren't giving information on all the autonomous communities - sorry but we can't control when this information is released!) You can print the vaccine certificate application FOR MURCIA REGION here: https://dexel.carm.es/.../1957/Solicitud_datos_vacunales.pdf Fill it out, and take it to your local Town Hall. Each Town Hall will have a different area/section which deals with this, so you may have to phone and ask, or ask at the door when you arrive as to where you have to hand it in. You can choose at the end of the application to receive your certificate via either Email, Fax, or Correo Postal (post). We suggest you contact your local Town Hall if you need further help or advice, or via email: [email protected]

Or call 900121212 for more info.

Thanks to Joanne for the heads up.

I apologise if I'm being dense, put it down to old age, but can you explain the Covid certificate please. Is it a one off thing or is it only if you are travelling in the near future. My wife and I have had both vaccine injections but have no intention of travelling until maybe October.

Thanks a lot

What is the EU digital COVID certificate?

All EU citizens who have either been 1). vaccinated; 2). have tested negative; or 3). have recovered from COVID-19 will be able to prove it with a digital certificate called the EU digital COVID certificate.

The certificate is issued for free by their national authorities and recognized by all EU 27 member states as well as Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein.

The certificate will be available in a national language and English. It consists of a QR code displayed on a device (like a smartphone or a tablet) or printed, and a digital signature, verified via EU Gateway.

When will the EU digital COVID certificate be ready?

The certificate will be active from 1 July 2021 and will be free. The system will be in place for 12 months starting from 1 July.

If a country is not ready to issue certificates on 1 July, there is a phasing-in period of six weeks, when other formats can still be used and should be accepted in other EU countries as well.

How will the EU digital COVID certificate make traveling within the EU easier?

The certificate will make it easier for you to travel safely through the EU by showing that you have been vaccinated, had a negative test result or recovered from COVID-19.

The EU digital COVID certificate will have a speedy verification process and will help preventing the use of fake certificates across the EU.

The certificate alone is not a travel document. It won't be enough to travel, you will still need your passport or another form of identification.

You also don't need to have the certificate to travel but having it should make traveling easier. If you hold a EU digital COVID certificate you should in principle be exempted from testing or quarantine.

How do I obtain my EU digital COVID certificate?

There are three ways to obtain an EU digital COVID certificate:

Vaccination: you are vaccinated with any COVID-19 vaccine

Recovered from a SARS-CoV-2 infection: less than 180 days have passed since the date of positive test result (PCR)

Tested negative for COVID-19: you have a negative test result (PCR or RAT)

Note: Tests recognized under the certificate include Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) tests, such as RT-PCR tests and rapid antigen tests (RAT). Travelers should always check the applicable rules, ie which test is accepted to waive free movement, at the points of transit and destination. Antibody testing is not recognized, though this may change after the system is launched.

EU citizens who were vaccinated in a non-EU country can request the EU digital COVID certificate from the member state of their nationality or residence. For further information, please address your member state of nationality or residence.

What data does the certificate include? Is the data safe?

The information contained on the EU digital COVID certificate is limited to:

your name

your date of birth

date of issuance

vaccine / test / recovery information

a unique identifier

This data remains on the certificate and is not stored or retained when the certificate gets verified through the QR code or with human checks.

All other health data remains with the national authority that issued an EU digital COVID certificate.

What are the travel measures for holders of the EU digital COVID certificate?

Holders of a valid EU digital COVID certificate should in principle not be subject to testing or quarantine when traveling within the EU.

EU countries have to accept vaccination certificates only for vaccines which received EU marketing authorization. Countries may decide to extend this also to EU travelers that received another vaccine.

For more information, before traveling, consult the Re-open EU website or app or the national authorities of the country you're traveling to.

To help EU countries introduce coordinated measures to protect public health while allowing freedom of movement in the EU the Council has adopted an updated recommendation on travel within the EU. The recommendation contains inter alia provisions on common thresholds when considering restrictions of free movement for public health reasons and a common framework as regards possible measures for travelers coming from higher-risk areas.

Many thanks for this very helpful information but is this certificate acceptable for travel back to the UK? All I have read says that is acceptable throughout Europe. Hope some one can clarify.

At the moment no. Retuning to the UK still requires testing before you fly, testing on day 2 and day 8 on your return, and 10 days quarantine. We are really hoping Boris will relax these measures and not require quarantine for those who have a vaccination certificate. Watch this space!

Fran Stan sets out the current position correctly.

There are media reports that the UK  government is considering removing these requirements for travellers that have received both vaccines - so hopefully that will happen, but I would expect this to be late-July / August.

Thanks to Joanne for the heads up.

As an update I went yesterday to my local medical centre, they did not want (I printed off and filled out the form on this thread - just given straight back to me without even looking at it) or need any paperwork, just my TIE (I assume you may be OK with your residencia?) and my Murcian medical card, printed off my certificate, no problem and out in a couple of minutes.
