Hi all,

We are a couple in our 50s aiming to retire and are looking to purchase a property in the Los Urrutias and El Carmoli area. Our house in the UK is for sale and we are out for a week at the begining of October, we then intend to rent for 3 months at the start of next year, Jan, Feb and March (if you have a 2/3 bedroom place with storage for a motorcycle avaible to rent in the area let us know!) with a view to buying during that time.Any oppinions on the area and  things to do would be very much appreciated, also any down sides? we would like to be in a Spanish area rather than big urbanisations.thanks millions in advance for any replies

Hi. Los urrutias is mainly Spanish as is El Carmoli. There is a restaurant on the El Carmoli estate . We live on el Carmoli and love it although you have to drive most places. Local restaurants and bars are very friendly. I will enquire about rental property if you wish. Plenty of houses for sale locally too. Try to fly into Murcia San javier airport. It is 15 minutes away.

Regards

Caroline

Hi

We've just bought a 2 bedroom apartment in Los Nietos which is the next village south from Los Urrutias.  You've picked a beautiful place to buy, we were charmed by Los Urrutias and Punta Brava.  Our apartment won't be being used by us as we are still in the UK.  It's available for the winter months and is currently advertised with a local agent. It has allocated, covered parking, communal pool, lifts, full kitchen, good balcony and importantly super views of the sea of which it's 200 metres walk to the beach.   It's right on edge of the village closest to Los Urrutias so about a 2.5 mile drive to the edge of Los Urrutias.  Let me know if you want more details.  The super Antonio's restaurant is also only 200 metres away.  The apartment is on a small gated complex of only 36 apartments of mainly Spanish residents.  It's €400 pm plus €120 utilities pm but we will refund utilities that you might overpay for.

Hi Caroline

thanks for the reply and the area sounds like it will be ideal for us as we also cycle quite a bit too.

We have seen some lovely places for sale and good prices too!

We have used San Javier and it certainly does make life easier, we have even walked from airport to Los Nerejos,

If you should hear of a rental that you think may suit us please let us know,

Many thanks again

Cliff

Hi Ian

Thanks for reply and your appt sounds good, does it have parking for a high roof van as I will be bringing one of our bikes and kit etc, in it,

Have to agree with you about the area, we love it already!

Cheers

Cliff

You can park the hi top right outside the complex and have the bike in our car parking space within the complex.  As the complex is right on the edge of the village there's plenty of space outside it.  If you want to give me an email address I can forward some photos if it helps.

Hi Cliff.

I see someone has replied to your request. Personally I think Los Nietos is a bit run down but it should give you a good short term base.  I will however make some enquiries for you.

Regards

Caroline

Hi Cliff

Thanks for your reply. Remind me again when you need your rental. Perhaps we could meet up. We are also in our 50s although Davy my partner is at entirely the wrong end at 59 !!! Hope to see you soon.

Hi, first time post. We are also a couple in our fifties and plan to retire 2020. We are looking to buy beforehand in Los Urrutias and are coming over in May. We have heard many great things about the area but were slightly concerned when we were informed Los Urrutias is very quiet outwith the summer months. We also would prefer not to be in a big urbanisation but would be concerned if amenities close outwith peak tourist times.

Regards,

Kenny & Margaret
