On the 17th of March I posted a link for a Help Line for Ukrainian refugees.

Just an update:

My family (mother 35 son 10) arrived exhaust on the 22.March after 3.700 KM drive in their own car.

I have to say both are speaking English very well – but some typical English phrases got lost in translation by google translate and we had hick ups which we solved and changed into laughter.

With the help of my gestor they got their NIE Number and “Residencia” in 21 days.

The son has school lessons Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1 pm via zoom.

She has found herself a job for 4 days a week, and is very active in the community to help other refugees. Tuesdays & Thursdays both are going to Spanish lessons.

So my family is no trouble at all.

Overall the Ukrainian refugees are well educated and proud people to get settled as soon as possible and find a job.

My issue for this post:

Since the first contact with her I collect links to “help lines” worldwide for the refugees and post these to the relevant “shelter seekers”.

In the last week or so I read in these Foren that “some” are stranded in Spain:

accommodation not suitable (like mold on the walls, not a room but stable for animals) , some accommodation are “out in the woods” -  no public transport to find a job, and some worse.. false promises (close to traf** & p***e to go after the children).

The system here in Spain is bad, they accept and give out “residencia” but that is that -OK Health cover-

Just “look after yourself”.

I would like to ask this community if they or know someone who could help to find "shelter" for these poor souls?

Please contact me via PM/DM (Private message) and I will give you a link where you can post your offer.

PS: As always, we have had dinner together……

On 11.05. we had a BBQ (8pm) and my BH told her that the next day we would have our xyz wedding anniversary. As usual we went out 12.5. for a special lunch. On our return 3.30pm we were greeted by nearly all our friends (20 or so) and the garden was decorated for a party……

She arranged everything from drinks, food, BBQ…

Her son has searched with help from his dad who is still in the Ukraine a playlist of music with all our favorite tunes……

We had tears in our eyes…. Unforgettable
