Hola     has income tax changed in Spain     gone is "help" with mortgage relief  this year

then I am told    no longer is a tax free sum   €12,496    before paying tax    you are taxed on every thing

does an accountant     ask for more  money  to cover tax     then  put what is left over in his/her back pocket

I used an accountant   (now closed)  for the past three years  told me I had no tax to pay    now a new account  is asking for €2,400

I am so confused    not sure who to trust

Get all your records together and get a face-to-face appointment at the Tax office. The service is free. Look for the Agencia Tributaria.

Do it tomorrow, as the time to file ends June 30th, after that there are penalties for late filing.

What you are being told sounds like absolute rubbish.

Personal allowance is much lower in Spain I think the figure youve quoted is UK allowance…this is Spain this year

The general personal allowance for everyone under the age of 65 is set at €5,550, or €6,700 from age 65, and €8,100 from age 75.

We use QML in the 525 square for all our tax

Hola  Crissy    yes  QML   I asked for the cost to  do    my returns    told    €75 +tax    then  with add on at a later date   they asked for

€300+     I got my papers back       I have gone to a accountant  La  Torre    who is now  asking for   €2400  on    an income of €14,000 ???

I found the sum of  €12,500  on line for Spain tax free

I feel I am being conned  all round      the past three years   I was told no tax to pay    but this accountant is no longer working

now trying to contact   agencia tributaria     in   san Pedro del Pinatar

think youve got a bit mixed up with taxable base and personal allowance ….excess of your 6700 or 8100 is taxed at 19% or more depending on amount….2400 sounds about right …see if you can claim anything back from UK…always worth a try ..the forms are on HMRC website

As a guide one of us has an income of c.€18k, with more than half a crown pension. The other around €14k.

Our tax bill is €59 for one, and zero for the other. We pay nobody to do the return, and it took less than 20 minutes to complete.
