I need help with Travel insurance/health insurance=which?

Hi all, I'm coming out to La Manga for 8 months and can only get travel insurance for 6 months maximum. Would I be better getting some sort of Spanish health insurance or not bother with anything, I do have my E111 and I'm 66 years of age and have lots of minor health problems such as high blood pressure and Thyroid but all conditions are stable. If anyone could give me the benefit of your experience/advice on this I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
