Hi all. I'm English but currently in Brisbane, Aus staying with my son. I'm coming to Los Alcazares in March to look for a rental and then begin to search for my preferred area prior to buying. And of course, although I'm very keen, I need to make sure that it's right for me.

I'm flying into Madrid and will need to get to Los Alcazares. The train from Madrid to Cartagena seems to be the best bet and then I guess, taxi? Any info welcome.

I'm looking forward to starting the search.

check if the train stops at either Torre Pacheco or Balsicas...both stations are closer to LA than Cartagena so a shorter and cheaper taxi ride!

Hi! I am Micaela "Mickey" from the US. My husband and I usually fly into Madrid as well. We take a metro from airport T4 to Chamartìn train station. Chamartìn is closer to the airport than Atocha train station. Same price. From there we purchase tickets to Balsicas (Murcia). On Departure screen it shows destination: Cartagena Mar Menor. This is your train. Get off in Balsicas. A taxi from Balsicas to Los Alcàceres around 25 euros give or take. We pay a little less because we bought in El Mojón, a quiet beach commnity is our destination. GoEuro has easy to see train schedule. You can also purchase through them, they're legit. March is also our trip to Spain.Yay! Have fun house hunting! Best wishes.

PS: Depending on your arrival time in Balsicas, it's a good idea to have Balsicas taxi number: 34607854944
