All the best with your purchase 🥂😎☀️

Hi,

Thanks a lot. We are in Folkestone too so would really appreciate a few tips on driving down.
We haven’t completed yet and have a bit of work to be done before we go back, but hope to return sometime in September.

Kindest regards

Paul

You can’t go far wrong for beds and furniture with Diane & Fred at The Furniture Store which is very close to the resort.

They offer a very personal, professional service.

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for that. I’ve looked at their site online. They are very close to Mar Menor golf resort and could be a good option.

Kind regards

Paul

Highly Recommended, we bought allot of our furniture from Fred.

Ikea is ok for some stuff - but don't forget the amount of time it can take to assemble and the lack of strength things like their dining chairs have - bought a table from Ikea and Dining chairs, from Fred as there are factory assembled and glued properly.

Paul,

Not sure what your budget is but is but there are many stores and suppliers in the locality for any budget and style- both British and Spanish speakers and so you really need to come and have a look to see what you want and how much you are happy to pay. Most places will supply ready to install but there is likely to be a delay of a few weeks after an order!

If you have your measurements and list of requirements then you should be able to get round most places in about 3 days and decide what you actually want and have things delivered a month later.

There are also 2/3 reputable car dealers within 2 miles and many contractors who have or are doing work on MMGR so it is just a question of timing and how much work they have on!

Best to be here and ask for references from other owners for the contractors and how they work and payments structure!

Don’t just go to one place and buy anything- get a feel for what is value for money for Spain not compared to the UK.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for reply.
The house is unfurnished. We need pretty well everything plus white goods so I realise it might cost a bit. I have looked at some of the furniture places online, but as you say you really need to see it for yourself.

We do plan to do that before we order anything.

I wanted to have a look online so that I could get a rough idea of what we are going to need to spend.

kindest regards

Paul

Paul,

I think a basic budget would be about €5000 Ikea level but if you basically need everything thats a big hob to assemble everything.

There are people who can assemble items but for the extra cost you can go up one notch and get a slightly better quality fully assembled.

That would be possibly an extra €2k and you can add another €1500 for fridge freezer and dishwasher vacuum microwave etc., then you need the plates knives forks etc

On top of the basic if you upgrade beds and sofas then you could spend a lot more plus you have the cost of outdoor furniture and the like so a decent table chairs parasol sunbeds and cushions could easily be €2k - better quality will be more!

There are stores in Torre Pacheco- Los Alcazares San Javier as well as Dos Mares and Mediterráneo  at Cartagena Hard to really access on line as searches only reveal the expensive places so you need names or website addresses otherwise!

Hi Ian,

Yes I’m not expecting a lot of change from about 12k euros.

It soon adds up when you need everything.

Thanks for the tips though.

Paul

We used Time 4 a Change in Los Alcazares for most of our furniture. The owners are really friendly and they deliver to Mar Menor for a small fee. They are mostly a 2nd hand furniture shop but they do stock brand new beds and mattresses and sets. They also have complete dining room and living room sets. They get their furniture mostly from British and foreigners leaving or changing furniture and all the pieces are always in excellent condition.

They publish new arrivals on their FB page and you can reserve to grab the deal.

They are worth a visit!

Hi Zaza,

Thank you for that.

I’m not on Facebook, but I’ll get the wife to

give them a look.

Kind regards

Paul
