Should we listen to the Luxembourg protesters?

Do they represent us?

It’s not how it looks that matters here, but what was actually said – and for once by the protesters, not the politicians.

From

"Britons in Europe are being hung out to dry. In Luxembourg, they found their voice" by Gaby Hinsliff

For this wasn’t the usual crowd and theirs was a message we don’t hear enough. Most were British people whose lives could be turned upside down on day one of a no-deal Brexit. Overnight, they fear losing the rights they had as EU citizens to everything from unrestricted travel across borders (an everyday reality in a country as tiny as Luxembourg) to residency in their own homes, to healthcare"

.

They represent "the remainers."

I voted to remain in the EU but …

There was a referendum. The majority voted to leave. Therefore Britain must leave.

Re British citizens living in the EU, I don't know about France or Luxembourg but Spain issued a Royal Decree concerning us in the event of a no deal. It has been translated and considered in Jim's Guides.

If it helps, we're still moving despite Brexit and what's happening in our so called democratic parliament.  Not a political person, I voted remain and am fuming by the antics.  As per previous reply,  we as a democratic nation voted leave, simple, we leave.  Not intetested in any soft Tory remainer, undemocratic Lib Dem or lying treasonous Labour come backs.  The nation voted leave, parliament said "stuff the public"....... just leave.   If its no deal its the faulf of politicians (all parties).  ........The opinion of a non political veteran and soon to be Expat.  See you all soon.

I agree, get on with your life irrespective of this bunch of self interested politicians! The media have always given the remainers and protestors air time and coverage, winding up the situation and trying to overturn a democratic vote. What I find difficult to understand is why can't the remainers now see the EU for what they really are. They have treated the UK with absolute disrespect and fueled project fear for over three year's. May was weak, and they knew it. She removed the best negotiating tool you can have, and the EU thought Christmas had arrived.

Surely all these people are not Remainers or scaremongering!

Don't believe everything you read in the Guardian Sean, I prefer the Beano myself.   Politics aside, its simple maths; a referendum was held, the majority voted leave, we leave.    Anything else is circumstantial.    This includes the wishes of people like myself planning a move to Spain.  Get used to it, move on and accept it.    As the old saying goes,  "You can please all the people some of the time....".

OK. Accept that. UK voted narrowly for something which has proved to be impossible to deliver because of insufficient public support.

As regards the Guardian, I'm just saying that the people quoted in the article are worried, and can't be ignored just like that. Let's hope it works out for them, and that UK attitudes to immigrants in UK is not reflected in Spain, Italy etc.

Never had my nationality questioned before but you could describe me as an immigrant in Spain.
