Bulldog

If you don't bring him over,  what will happen with him?

He will have to stay in UK with the family who are staying in UK but I want him out with me but also have to think of his breed in the heat .. looking into air conditioning for him etc ... All I want to know has anyone else got bulldogs and how do they cope ..thanks 

Like all dogs they Cope by being in the shade, having a coolmat and plenty of water available. During the hottest months it's short walks when the sun goes down and the ground is cooler, keep the house cool and pop the air con on or a fan. How does the dog cope when you have occasional hot days now? If it isn't bothered too much it should be fine over here. Remember houses are designed to be cooler here so there's no carpets to worry about, mine lay on the cool tiles.

We have a Pug and he tends to spread himself out in the shade when he gets too hot. We also brought a cooling necktie and that really helps we picked it up in B and M. 

Fantastic back in UK Thursday will grab one ready.. can I ask did you fly or drive your dog down?? Not sure what's the cheapest way.. x

Hi Abbey, apologies for jumping on board (excuse the pun).  Will soon be moving over, favouring Santander ferry presently.  On the subject of dog friendly cabins, our pooch is a larger one (Ridgeback), I'm assuming there is a dog toilet area on the decks where  you walk the dog to periodically, was your's ok with this?  Is the dog free to move around the cabin or are they caged within the cabin? If the dog is calm, are you able to leave them alone in the cabin for a short time? Thanks in advance. 

Thanks for all that very useful info Abbey, good also for anybody considering travelling from UK Port to Santander also.  Coincidentally, we are based in Ireland and will be boarding at Cork also.
