Not correct. Although the UK  government now recommends the PCRtest it is not yet mandatory an the antigen test is still acceptable

However, this is all under review and I expect the PCR test to be made mandatory at the next review which is about 2 weeks away

I am going to the UK in a couple of weeks to see my family and wondered if I need an Antigen test or a PCR test and where can I go to have one?

Could anyone advise, please, Are we talking if been double jabbed? or same required by everyone?

Thanks

You have to take a test here 3 days or less before you can board the plane back to the UK.  Currently antigen and pcr are acceptable. I stated last week the UK government recommended the pcr test due to a spike in Covid cases coming back from Spain and yesterday it was reported that trend continues and so now Spain may be put on the red list when reviewed next week.

In the UK if you are double jabbed then a pcr test on or before day 2 is required while Spain remains on the amber list

My feeling is that this spike is coming from package holidays rather than homeowners in Spain which I am assuming the majority who post are as they are not mixing as much so can still be that more cautious and careful

PCR not compulsory. UK Gov states either is sufficient for travel to UK.

Antigen the cheaper option, so don’t waste the extra money on PCR.

I think the next review by the UK government is on 26th August so don't be surprised if pcr is made compulsory then assuming the increase in Covid cases returning from Spain continues

My daughter is visiting at Christmas. She is 50 and has not been vaccinated, therefore she needs a full PCR test.before she can return to the UK. Can you advise where in the Mazarron area she can get this? Also, if known the cost?

Hi..my son has just teturned 5th November unvaccinated on an Antigen (information from government website)..we got his Antigen test don at Zamora pharmacy just off the market square in Mazarron €15  hard copy results in 20mins. Booked his 2&8days in advance as reference number is required for passenger locater form..to be completed before exiting Spain.

Hope this is helpful to you.😁😁
