Anyone else seen a big rise in the number of dead wasps & flies in the pool?

Pool man comes twice a week Tuesday & Thursday the pump has not worked once since he left last Thursday could that have anything to do with it? I am considering put some jam in a dish to see if they will chow down on that

Pump not working will have contributed, as all insects and birds are desperate for water in summer and will take risks. Especially in still water. We leave a dog water bowl out and the birds come to drink all day long.
Jam: Will attract all the wasps in a quarter mile radius ! You'll end up with even more!
NEST? Sounds like you might have a wasp nest in the near vacinity. Check roof tiles. They'll nest in tiles if there's a broken corner in one, allowing entry. We had one this year in our conservatory roof. Garden walls. You can buy wasp sprays with a 6ft jet. Means you can blast their nest and run indoors quickly :-)) Don't forget to wear a hat, mask and long sleeves - or - Perhaps your pool man can check round for you.
