Hi Steve

Many thanks for taking the time to reply. We visited last year and really liked Camposol. We are returning next June to have another look as we are hoping to have an early retirement in a year or so.We therefore need a rough idea where we’d like to buy a property and Camposol is definitely in the running.

Appreciate the information

Cheers Tony

Hi everyone...My name is Tony and my wife Lynn and I are considering moving to the area when we have an early retirement in a few years.Just wondered if anyone could answer a couple of questions for us please. What is the climate like especially through the winter months as we are after a mild win...

...ter if possible.Open to any area but do like the properties in Camposol but have heard negative things. Also is the crime rate low. Many thanks

Hi

We bought a Bungalow on the outskirts of Los Alcazares in March the summer was very hot and the average winter temperature has been in the low 60s.it is a beautiful place with a fantastic coastline and the water was lovely and warm in summer, there are lots of nice restaurants plenty of supermarkets and the people are really friendly.

hi Tony

we moved over end July.  40 degrees as we renting inland till our house is built.  it was around 36 on the coast at this time.

we have rented a north facing villa which in summer was perfect but the temp go from 18 by day to 4 by night which feels cold especially when you have north face garden facing mountains.

perhaps come over and rent in Dec or Jan and experience it for yourself.  our rental villa was built 2004 and is open plan.  no insulation so it is cold in the house.  actually warmer to be outside.

people advised us to research areas which we did but make sure you research the build of properties if that is possible.

we love being here and feel we have made the right decision.  we will be moving to Santiago de la ribera which is 10 mins up the coast to Los alcazares.

good luck with yr search

Hi Lilkal

Appreciate the useful information. It seems the Spanish do not insulate their homes very well which is a shame considering the cold winter night time temperatures.I must say we are looking at the Canary Islands too as they have an all year warm climate even at night. However we are finding you get very small properties for your budget so are seriously considering Costa Calida and maybe compromising the climate for a nicer property.Must get it right as it’s our forever home.

Thanks for your informative reply Tony😀

Hi there agree with  MML Lo Pagan/San Pedro area is lovely easy access to the beach and a lot of new properties are being built in this area quite a few British but not over run with us. Also quite a few Belgian people who are a very friendly race and the majority of which do speak English. Ideal for shopping the shopping centre Dos Mares within easy walking distance and a short drive to the larger shopping centre La Zenia Boulevard with many shops and eateries. I would recommend this area as it still gives you the true feeling of Spain. Definately worth a look anyway.

Hi Margaret,

Thanks for the support, yes, there is an awful lot of interest and positive comments comming from the las Alcazares forum as well as other forums I have the posting in so all being well, I can convince those who need to be convinced that this a good investment and well needed service.

I have found a great project in Cartagena consisting of about 90 apartments all about 65M5 together with hotel, grounds  and golf which would make good for a sheltered accommodation project if anyone is interested. Being midway between Las Alcazares and Mazarron, I guess it could suit a lot of people.
