Hi Kathryn & Partner

Spain is a really good country to live in I have been living here for many years and in different places.

I had a property inland from the Mar Menor when Masa Promaturer released Camposol in 1996 I purchased off plan before any show houses ect and kept my property there until  2010 when I sold it.

I now live in Murcia city and also La Ribera on the Mar Menor for me both are ideal residences the city mainly being Spanish but La Ribera has a large cosmopolitan community, walk along the sea front, stop at any of the bars and you will meet British people some who live there but others that live on an urbanisation an want to get away.

Many people go to Camposol for the price of property!! I know of an apartment 70sq mt 2 beds kitchen gallery bathroom lounge and balcony, within 5 mins walk to the beach, all the shops you would need for daily living also within walking distance, Lidl, Aldi, Mercadona and this was sold for 30.000Euro about £27,000 plus expenses.

Don't be hasty have a good look around not only in estate agents ask when you go for a coffee or a drink there are many properties for sale by Spanish people that do not trust estate agents,

Almeria is another good area around the Vera Beach area.

Happy hunting and if you require any assistance pm me

Regards

Ed

Hi Kathryn

I am not sure what your budget it or the type of property you are looking for, but La Azohia needs to go on the list.

It’s very spanish, but English is widely spoken in the bars, restaurants and Spar if required. There is also a pharmacy and all the staff speak excellent English in there.

In the winter it’s does get quiet but the temperature stays up as it is protected by the beautiful hills behind.

You are 10 mins from Puerto de Mazzaron with all the shops and restaurants you could ask for. If you don’t want to drive you can just jump on the bus. Which runs between Puerto de Mazzaron and Cartagena.

Prices in the area are a little high but bargains do come up if you are prepared to wait. We actually had to wait 4 years before one became available within our Budget.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Best wishes

Mark
