Hi all

My partner and i are looking to buy a property here and just wondering whether you can recommend it and if so why. We would appreciate any information about the place. We are both keen golfers

I don't know Mosa itself, but I've holidayed twice on the nearby El Valle Golf Resort.

El Valle was built by Polaris World Resorts as part of a planned 'Golden Bear' trail with courses designed by / with Jack Nicklaus. There is also La Torre, Hacienda Requelme, Sierra and, of course, La Manga, all within 30 mins drive.

Excepting La Manga, El Valle is / was the best course and I think has hosted the Spanish Seniors and other championships.

The whole area was signifcantly impacted by the crash in 2008 though which resulted in many properties still being worth only 50% of what was originally paid for them. This offers some bargains but has also meant that some of the resorts were not finished, so it would be good to confirm that any bars, shops & restaurants are actually there & regularly open.

The area is very tranquil, so if you're looking to relax, play golf, swim in a pool, etc. in the sun, then this is a great area - but most of these developments have only one shop, one bar, one restaurant and you are a 20-30 min drive from large shops, any choice of restaurants, bars, etc. Also check the maintenance fees.

Hope this helps!

We played golf at mosa at least three times last winter and loved the course.  We also saw a few properties for sale that looked interesting. There was security at the entrance but lots of empty buildings. The new clubhouse/restaurant looks good. We stayed at el valle but would consider buying at mosa at the right price. Not sure about maintenance costs and worried about whether the complex could survive. We have seen a few of these golf courses and houses go downhill quickly leaving residents to run the area  would be interested to hear from anyone living there for the true story.  Also, beware that we saw many structural problems with some properties including large cracks in pools and walls collapsing.
