Hi, we are experiencing more and more Freesat channels that won't work because of a weak signal.  Any recommendations for steps to take or someone who can look at the satellite dish etc?  Mula/Bullas/Cegehin area. Thank you.

I think you will find it's mainly BBC channels? It's because the have mostly gone to hd. Channel 101 is the worst. 104 is also bad we record on non hd and watch later. What size dish do you have ?

Hi. It's those channels definitely but also an awful lot of the other ones too. Hmmmm, it's big!! Maybe about 1.5 metres.

Hi,

BBC are moving many (all?) of their channels to HD and closing down the SD versions. So your problem may be your decoder box rather than your dish.

From The BBC online: "How to tell if you’re using an SD-only box?

Go to channel 799 on your TV (Freesat customers only). If you see a “Good news!” message, then you don’t need to do anything. You’re ready and won’t be affected. Over the next few months, your new HD BBC One region will appear on channel 101 automatically.

If you see a “sorry, your satellite set-top box is not capable of receiving high-definition services” message, these changes will affect you and you will need to upgrade your satellite box. However, you may be eligible for extra support."

I had a similar problem to yours at home in Ireland and discovered that (as part of these changes) the BBC had left the Astra 1 satellite for Astra F for many of its channels.

So try doing a satellite search looking for Astra F and you may find your missing channels there.

We are having problems with channel 104 had but channel 4 +1 is ok. We get all the Bbc hd and non hd ok. We don’t have a channel 4 non hd. Reluctant to do a full rescan search in case we lose everything
