Hi, can anyone tell me if I need to open a Spanish bank account to complete a property purchase, or can this be done through Transferwise or similar? I know there are anti money laundering rules/audit trails to follow and am unsure if using Transferwise complies. Also, can we use Transferwise for water and electricity direct debits?
Transferwise have a facility to pay direct debits in euros, just starting this process myself as non resident fees in spanish banks are increasing
You don't need a Spanish bank account to complete s property purchase.
TransferWise will do the job for you at a very good rate.
Also use them for all your Spanish direct debits.
