Thinking of buying in this area so would like to meet like-minded English speaking people.Would like to know if there are other expats in these towns.

There are quite a few migrants of various nationalities here in the Mula/Pliego area quite a few Brits with a smattering of Dutch, German and the occasional Italian. This is the real Spain, English is not really spoken as there are no migrant enclaves nearby. It's a peaceful pleasant area, and the locals are in the main very friendly and welcoming. As you move further up the valley you will find less migrants, the exception being Cehegin, which for some reason has a significant Brit community, it is a nice town, but I am not sure why it attract so many Brits.

Hope this helps, and good luck in your search.

Most definitely there is. We have just celebrated our first year of owning a casa in Mula and love it. There are all sorts of groups you can join. We are members of a walking group and there is an 'am dram' group too. If you would like to know more, just let me know and I will send you the details.

Hi Trish

Thanks for the info. One other question, we notice on a number of properties large Sat. dishes. Can one still receive English T.V from Astra? or is all wifi now.

Thanks, Martin

Gee, I dont know the answer to that one Martin, I will need to ask my other half who understands all that sort of stuff... all I know is that we have a big dish out the back, but we also have an internet connection and we have Netflix and Amazon too I think.

My other half says we watch BBC etc through Freesat.

Does that help?

Trish
