W/C conundrum

The only suggestion I can make is to look for the water inlet supply valve & make sure that it is turned on fully.

That's if you can see it. 

It may or may not be is the 'built' in bit.

They are an absolute nightmare these built in cisterns, nobody ever gave any thought to doing any sort of repairs when the were designed & installed.

It is not a problem with the inlet valve but it sounds like the cistern is filling up then slightly emptying thus causing the valve to keep opening...it can take maybe five minutes before it stops, so some adjustment is needed.

 It beggars belief that someone designed this without any thought as to how to adjust the internal mechanism, which we all know often needs looking at. And what is wrong with a friggin' lid in the first place!

I've fitted and repaired several cisterns including Roca, but I've never come across a completely sealed one, the internals must have been fitted somehow! I have the same water supply as you I would think, and my cisterns suffer from calcium build up in spite of having a filter system. Another problem with modern cysterns is the flimsy seal at the bottom of the internal unit, and the only way in my experience to deal with that is to change the complete flushing unit.

To do that you have to take the whole cistern off to gain access to it which is quite simple, it is a DIY job.  Have a look on the Roca website and they show all their cisterns including yours. You'll find a pdf with full instructions and parts list.  In my opinion Roca is one of the best makes available. Good luck

Many thanks RMA for your input on this...my DIY skills are less than admirable so I would not like to attempt this, however it is good to know that the job can be relatively easily done...I'll just have to find a local plumber.
