Could someone advise me how long it took to transport their animals to Spain and an approx figure for doing so? Did you have to sedate them to get there?

Hi Anne we drive our dog over from Essex using euro shuttle stopping at Dijon then girona. Cost approx £350 for fuel and tolls £80 per night in each hotel plus  £7 For the dog and then any food or drink.  We did it in 3days.  I wouldnt recommend 2 days if u travel juky or aug as roads very busy between dijon and border of spain.

Hi Anne we are currently en route to Spain with our cat. Staying with my son in France for a few days before setting off for Girona tomorrow, an overnight stay at a pet friendly hotel.  We drove from Edinburgh with an overnight stop in Maidstone before going on the shuttle.  Cat travelled in a dog cage to give him space to walk around along with space for his litter tray although he never used this while we were driving.  He wasn't sedated and has travelled really well so far with no issues.  The vet recommended a calming spray which we sprayed in the cage before the journey so it does seem to have worked.

Regards

Caroline

So glad all going well Caroline.  I think pets adapt better than we think.  Half way now.

Hi Karen

Journey so far hasn't been as bad as I first thought.  Have had a relaxing few days in France and an early start tomorrow for the next part of the trip🙂
