Hello is there a list of local buses that serve in Puerto de Mazarron? It looks like there’s one that goes through Calle Estribar? Does anybody  know the number and bus route? Many thanks

Hi there,

(Comment below prefaced with I'm not sure what's happening with buses ATM but imagine local buses are running and you need a face mask.)

PdM is reasonably well served by buses. There's a bus station in town, by the 'blue market' and that's probably the best place to go and find out more. Buses are cheap and reliable but not always prompt.

For Calle Estribor, the Bolneuevo bus runs from the bottom of the road by the Playa Grande hotel in to town and on to Mazarron. And in summer the novelty tourist train (in normal times anyway) will run into the Port.

Thank you for your reply, we haven’t moved there yet but I’m looking at properties that have a nearby bus route. 👍😊

The local buses are, I think, pretty good and definitely cheap. It would be good if they were more frequent. If you were thinking about that part of town by the way, it does get jolly quiet down there outside of summer.

Thank you for letting me know. The thing is we have a dog and the property is not too long a walk to the dog friendly beach. I’ve done a google walk and have noticed there’s a Spar at the end of the street and a couple of nice beach bars off to the right and a closer one to the left? It also looks like the beach doesn’t get too busy at that end? I’ve been loving my google walks, feel I’ve already been there! Can’t wait! 👍🥰

I think the beach rules are liberalised outside peak times (May-Sept): you can walk your dogs on other beaches in low season. Not the main beach by the paseo. But iirc Playa de Isla and Playa de Bahia. All the beaches in PdM and Bahia are packed in July/August anyway. Mucha gente.

The beach bars don't open all year round for sure. And I'm not sure that Spar does. But it might.

Live every month in PdM before you move there. I personally can't yet settle there but will. I encourage many visits and travels. I love the town but many might find it quiet. A dull January Monday in PdM is quiet.
