Hello Paul, you can easily buy gas from a petrol station or at shops selling gas cylinders. The first time you buy gas, you will be required to purchase a cylinder which costs about 55 to 60 Euros plus the cost of gas about 13 to 18 Euros. Once you need to replinish your gas cylinder, simply bring in your empty cylinder and exchange it for one filled up with gas. You now only pay the price for the gas (and no longer for the cylinder as you have given in your empty cylinder). There are several shops selling BBQs run on gas. Just buy one and hook it up to your gas cylinder. I believe you only need a contract if you intend to use the gas supplied directly from the main gas pipeline. Hope this helps. Anthony IP

Hello Paul

You really do need a contract for butano gas as it a way to ensure you are insured if you have an explosion or fire out of control.

If something unforeseen did happen and you have a legal contract your own insurance company could not refuse to pay out.

A gas appliance such as a water heater should also have a certificate of installation again to validate your home insurance.

Many people just take the chance and buy gas illegally from a garage or shop but are not aware of the consequences if something did happen even transporting a bottle in your car, better to buy from the delivery man, there is a Repsol gas dealer just past the Mercadona roundabout going to the port the delivery man is often there.

Better to be safe than sorry

Take care

Ed

Buy 2 second hand ones (they come up regularly on the buy and sell sites) and you simply swap an empty one for a full one at a peppelino or garage. Much cheaper than buying new

Hi Paul,

If you go to any Repsol garage you can purchase a large gas bottle for 37.75 euros full. The refills are then only 16.50 euros, this is better than the small bottles which are 13 euros to refill & only contain half as much gas.

Regards,

Harry.
