Goldcar rip off

Good morning all.

Just a quick warning for anyone contemplating hiring from Goldcar Alicante. I have just returned to UK again having rented a car for a month from Goldcar at Alicante airport, booked via DoyouSpain, and I'm awarding Goldcar a gold medal for 'rip offs'!

1. When collecting car I was told they only had a Fiat 500 (my other half's case is bigger than that!) for me even though I had booked a larger car. After a long argument/negotiation I had to agree to pay for an upgrade!

2. I returned the car with a full tank, but to date I have not had a refund for the fuel payment!

3. They have since taken extra money from my credit card after I returned home.I had the car checked and signed as OK before I left it.

Attitude of staff not good

I now have the hassle of contacting Goldcar HQ; DoyouSpain, and my bank to get some sort of satisfaction. I have rented cars in Spain 5 times this year alone, and my blacklist of companies is growing fast.

Make sure to post on their FB/Twitter pages - the more bad publicity the better! Give them a deadline to respond and tell them after this date you will raise raise a complaint with the EU Trading Standards - http://www.ukecc.net/complaints-procedure.cfm

Good Luck. I HATE rip-off companies like this :-(

Hi, a brilliant car hire company is flamenca cars you can pick the car up from either Alicante or San Javier airports they do not block your card for hundreds of pounds and the price you see is the price you pay. The car is delivered full and you return full, run by an English couple who are great, this is how car hire should be, try them.
