I drove home from Portugal to Mazarron without realizing my car was due for it's first ITV as it has just reached four years. I have now got the ITV but am concerned I may have been clocked by a camera on the way home. I have followed several lots of internet instructions on how to check if you have a traffic fine but they go to an error message or don't seem to work. Does anyone know how to do this without a digital signature? I am back in the UK for three weeks so won't be able to check mail until the 20 days for early payment have expired if I do have a fine I don't know about. My fault entirely but I welcome any advice

Cameras only check speed. Stop worrying about something that will not happen

And make a point that the first thing to do on your return to Spain is get a digital certificate and register with the DGT!

Hi. Just back home in the Netherlands after 3 months holliday and got 2 fines in my mailbox. The first one was on my first day entering Spain so 3 months ago. Got 2 reminders also.

But the 20 day period starts after receiving the fines as it is stated in the fine. So not after the day stamp of the fine.

Hope this helps.

With a certificate you can register with government agencies like DGT and Agencia Tributaria. They will email you if there is anything relating to you - we had a query from the taxman a while back but the notification allowed us to know about it and schedule an appointment for when we were back home in Spain. This took the panic out of things and saved us being fined for not knowing about the appointment.
