Hi

Am slowly learning that Murcia and the Costa Calida does not have a great public transport network.

I don’t want to have to buy a car and as I will be buying to stay for a couple of months here and there and mainly in the low season am looking for somewhere in that has a bus service to and from Murcia or between towns and beaches. Was keen on Sucina but looks like it’s once/twice a  day at most - is this what to expect everywhere?

Has anyone any first hand knowledge of best served areas.  Would appreciate a point in the right direction

Thanks in advance

Why not look at Santiago La Ribera, all the services you need in the town shops, restaurants, pharmacies, medical centre, post office, library and the list goes on.

Also lovely beaches with good walks.

Regular bus services to Murcia city and villages on the way, Cartagena also villages on the way and Alicante airport and city.

Yes I have a place in Santiago De La Ribera. Good connections to everywhere.  3 buses  a day to Alicante airport.(used to be 5 before covid) Several buses to Murcia city  and here are details of the local community buses  46 47 48A 49  pass through Ribera.

47 is regular service to Cartagena

48A local hospital and Dos Mares Shopping and San Pedro

49  inland towns

Hi there,

I don't have a car in Spain and must say that El Puerto de Mazarron has a perfectly serviceable bus service to Mazarron town, Cartagena and Murcia. It's on the coast and doesn't shut down in winter. slightly less convenient for the Carver airport but doable (I usually fly into Alicante and take two buses, change in Murcia.)

Hi there,

I get the airport bus from Alicante Airport to Murcia Bus station. That's by Alsa and costs something like 6 Euros.

And then to El Puerto de Mazarron from Murcia. That's with Interbus. Again, the same sort of money. I do it both ways. There is sometimes bit of a wait but there are some very nice cafes about the bus station. I find it very effective and efficient.

Ross.

I don't know for certain. But I have never seen a dog on a bus. So I imagine not.
