Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and hoped I could get some advice from any expats in Puerto de Mazarron.

After a lot of searching I think Puerto de Mazarron is the place I would like to buy a little place to use as a holiday home with the view to moving to in a few years. Looking for an apartment Min two bed with plenty of outside space, ideally with a pool close by, would like to be within walking distance of amenities ....... so pretty much what so many people want !

The main reason for the post is,  can anyone advise the areas within Puerto de Mazarron that I should concentrate the search in?  we are aiming to travel out and complete the search mid march.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks for reading

Mike

Hi Mike,

I have recently bought an apartment in Puerto d Maz so I know the area quite well...there are loads of areas around the town but If you want to stick to walking I would steer clear of anything further than 3/4 kilometres from the centre.

I used these lawyers...

Alberto Alcaraz, Corral & Alcaraz Law Firm

...and found them excellent, and I would recommend two agents particularly...Solhuse Gestión Inmobiliaria and Filbee´s Real Estate as being particularly good. However you've got to look around all the agents really as they generally don't seem to share properties.

Good luck and maybe bump into each other there one day.

Cheers...Jermy

we have an apartment in Bahia ( twenty minutes walk  into the port) it is near to lovely beaches and has some shops and bars close by and a reasonably new hotel ( dos playas)   We prefer to walk in  to the port than be based in the port itself which is lovely,   We like the area and the walks into town down via axel or the coast road.

We used Villaquest when searching and also were on the programme a play in the sun in 2015.

Goiod luck

Hi Paul & Gill

I thought Puerto d Maz would be popular after a bit of research but didn't realise we would be rubbing shoulders with celebrities !!

We have been looking in Bahia and found a couple of places that we would like to view hopefully next month if all goes well, I have also seen a couple of apartments towards El Alamillo but probably a little to far from the centre.

Whilst the walk wouldn't be an issue now or even driving just thinking ahead and covering all basis

Thanks for your help & cant wait to get out there and find our little place in the sun !

Hi, We are in the process of buying a lovely 3 bed townhouse in El Alamillo. We looked at various places nearby, however we think this place has the best options for everything, ( no issues walking or driving to the port), but having friends that live out in the port itself, and other nearby places we decided that being able to use the beach here, or in Isla Plana with its little beach bar and good restaurants, when the port is really busy, or opt to go and mix with the crowds down there.... So we hope to meet new friends, (also have a 14 year old daughter), and mix in with the whole community !! Stay in touch whoever would like to....

Hi Mike. Can I turn your question around a little? We have the same aim - to find somewhere in pdm to buy and maybe live. My question would be - are there any areas/districts in pdm that I should avoid? I have an email from one of the estate agents that I approached and in reply to my enquiry about a certain property I was told that the area was only suitable for morocons!! This was Urb Playasol 1. So should I avoid it? We're visiting pdm 1st week in june and I'll certainly take a look. But are there any other districts that should be avoided? Good luck in your search. Graham

I bought a place in the Port in March 2019. The Estate Agent did advise us not to buy in Playasol but Did not elaborate on it. Would not have put us off but ended up buying a house in Bahia. Good luck
