Hi Steve, the legislation and specification of the vehicles differ. You have to go to the Town Hall and probably also to the Ministry of Transport to find out. The Town Hall will give you all you need regarding a taxi permit (they are strictly limited in number and area). Bus specification is dictated nationally....hence the Ministry.

I'm not sure if this will help you but it's worth a try. There's an English owned coach company in the Costa Blanca called David's Coach Trips.

His address is on his website and he might well be able to give you some time saving advice, as you obviously won't be in competition with him. Good luck

Sorry to put a bit of a downer on things for you, but I think you will find it almost impossible to do this legally.

About 18 years ago I went to the town hall in Mazarron to see about obtaining a taxi licence. Then there was a 4 year wait and the cost of a licence every year then was about 12.000 euro a year add to that your atonimo about 250 a month plus taxes you would need many journeys to make this pay.

Also a basic Spanish driving licence does not cover you for driving a mini bus, you need to take the special test, ( I lost my privilege to drive mini buses when I changed to Spanish licence) and if you do get permission you would only be able to pick up at any airport by appointment.

Good luck to you, maybe the laws have changed, but I have seen no changes in the legalities of transporting people to and from airports or anywhere else.

Hi, I agree totally with Ed's advice. 

Running a taxi or bus to and from any airport legally is expensive to run before you take your first fare  even if it possible to imagine you could pass the necessary tests , taken  in Spanish only.

I lived close to Alicante airport and over the years we read about illegal taxi drivers having their cars smashed at the airport and the owners beaten up. Police not getting involved.

Now every vehicle entering and leaving is recorded videoed and if caught too many times " they assume you are running an unregistered taxi service" and you get a huge fine through your postbox, as well as prosecution followed by investigation by the Tax Office, or in any order.

Not sure if they are operating the same system in Corvera yet as there have been no reports yet, but for certain they will be operating the system.

I know of several people who are illegally operating transfer lifts to Corvera. To be honest, they don't listen. They will eventually get caught and risk losing everything.

Someone I know was caught in Los Montisinos and he had to flee Spain before appearing in Court. They arrested him in Alicante airport when he tried to sneak back to look at his property that had been alledgely vandalised some four years later.

He spent two days in a cell before going into Court on the Monday. He faced a stiff penalty and a suspended sentence.
